COMMITMENT
"God can't use you on the sidelines"
February 21 -- Read Esther 4:11-5:2
We must make a conscious decision to do His will, not
just watch and pray. God wants us to get involved so
that He can use us. Our commitment to our relationship
to Christ should not waver. Decide whom you will obey.
Then follow through and get involved. Esther, in the
Bible reading, is faced with a difficult decision. She
1) calculates the cost, 2) sets priorities, 3) prepares
and prays, and 4) swiftly acts. God used her!
- But if you are unwilling to obey the Lord, then
decide today whom you will obey. Will it be the God
of your ancestors beyond the Eupharates or the God
of the Ammorities here in the land? But as for me
and my family, we will serve the Lord. JOSHUA 24:15
- Daniel Berrigan, when asked why he continued to
support the peace movement after failures and jail
sentences served - "I cannot not do what I am
doing. It is the right thing to do regardless of what
it might accomplish."
- Discipleship without sacrifice breeds comfortable
