God's Will for your Life

"Joshua's decision"

November 14 -- Read Joshua 24:14-25

Once the big decision to turn our life and will over to the care of God is made, then the small pieces and small decisions fall into place because we know what is the number one priority in our life. We don't have to guess anymore. It doesn't change from week to week. The adversities, struggles, and short-comings are still there but the goal to be like Christ is still there leading the way.

  • But if you are unwilling to obey the Lord then decide today whom you will obey. Will it be the God of your ancestors beyond the Euphrates or the god of the Ammorites here in the land? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord. JOSHUA 24:15

  • If you decide not to choose, you've already made the wrong choice.

  • I have to keep in mind that as hard as I work and whatever I might achieve, whether it is planes, vacation homes, cars, or recognition- the moment I die it is gone. I could be doing so much more working for God's kingdom. What you do for God's kingdom is eternal. Eternity is unfathomable.

  • I'm convinced that most of us, even in our most difficult situations, have everything we are looking for- if we would choose to accept it and embrace it. Most of us are already in the place God wants us to be, if we were but willing to deepen our roots, increase our courage, and expand our vision and hope.

  • We may desire to bring the Lord a perfect work. We would like to point, when our work is done, to the beautiful ripened grain, bound up in sheaves, and yet the Lord frustrates our plans, shatters our purposes, and lets us see the wreck of all our hopes, breaks the beautiful structure we thought we were building and catches us in His arms and whispers to us, "It's not your work I wanted, but you." source unknown
