God's Will for your Life -- A Choice
"A choice"
December 31 -- Read Matthew 7:24-29
Don't you see? The choice to follow God and have a
relationship with Jesus Christ will be the most important
choice we will ever make. We may have adversity now;
we may feel that following God is too tough, and that
we will miss out on the good life. We will surely have
trials and tribulations now. The choice to follow God
sustains us during these intervals here. And most importantly,
the choice to follow God will result in spending Eternity
with Him which will really be the good life. This Christian
life is exciting, risky, rewarding, and exhilarating.
What a choice!
- I spent most of my life trying to arrange circumstances,
carefully and conservatively, so I could live comfortably,
safely, with few surprises and minimal inconveniences.
Now I'm learning that loving isn't always comfortable.
Sometimes it leads me down unexpected turns and gets
terribly inconvenient. But it is a much more exciting,
fulfilling way to live. I never again want to get
stuck in the comfort zone. Bill Hybels Descending
Into Greatness
- Nothing less than God Himself, in all His wondrous
plentitude, majesty and goodness can fully satisfy
the searching, questing, longing spirit of man. Never,
ever, until we come to know and love Him in intimate
communion and accord, do we discover that quiet rest
and inner contentment which is the true hallmark of
the child of God whose priorities are in proper order.
Phillip Keller Wonder 'O the Wind
- Following Jesus Christ is a dangerous act! It is
dangerous because you may find yourself digging with
a shovel, or reading the Bible, or changing your job,
or praying as you've never prayed before. It is indeed
dangerous, for if one becomes committed to this way,
all life will be different and every sphere of one's
existence will be involved in the change. One of the
most exciting things I've discovered during the past
10 years is the possibility of ministry on the part
of every person. Sometimes it takes years for this
ministry to unfold. But with patience, the most wonderful
things emerge from the most unlikely people.
Elizabeth O'Connor Call to Commitment
-
I have now disposed of all my property to my family.
There is one thing more I wish I could give them-
and that is faith in Jesus Christ. If they had that
and I had not given them one shilling, they would
have been rich. If they had not that, and I had
given them all the world, they would be poor indeed.
Patrick Henry's final will and testament
