SELF CONFIDENCE

"Boast about God"

January 9 -- Read Romans 15:7-13

We only boast about what God has done for us. Our greatest achievement is to be used by God to encourage, excite, and give hope and joy to others.

  • Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God. ROMANS 15:7

  • In the same way, let your light shine before men so that they may see your good works and praise your Father in heaven. MATTHEW 5:16

  • Great occasions do not make heroes or cowards. They simply unveil them in the human eye. Silently and imperceptibly, as we wake or sleep, we grow strong or weak, and at last some crisis shows us what we have become.
    Bishop Westcott

  • Everyone who competes in the games exercises self control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.
    1 CORINTHIANS 9:25

  • We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is then not a act, but a habit. Aristotle

  • Finally brethren, whatever true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute; if there is any excellence and anything worthy of praise, let your mind dwell upon these things.
    PHILIPPIANS 4:8

  • The flower of self respect can not grow in the soil of sinful habits.

  • This is the basic paradox of life: a person's greatness lies in his weakness. When self-sufficiency turns into Christ confidence, a man is ready for anything.
    Richard Halverson
